Anyone watch glastonbury on the telly for the weekend? I only got to see the chemical brothers for a bit, oasis and last night muse blew me away, couldnt keep my eyes open for sir paul but i'd say he was class as always. Oxegen will be fantastic for muse alone if they put on that show, saw them a few years ago supporting ash and they were brilliant (Ash stink btw) but damnit i can't wait now!

Macca - classic case of pop-star who should keep his big yap shut between songs. What tunes he did play were, indeed, brilliant and the band sounded good...

As I say, anytime he spoke, I cringed...

Regarding Oasis - Did anybody thing that Liams voice sounded different...It certainly wasn't the throaty 'lager lout' voice of before...

Ya i think liam has become a little whipped by his girl! his big girly white coat backs that up. Liam and noel had seperate dressing rooms for glastonbury probably cos noel couldn't stand seeing liam twirling in front of the mirror and necking with the girlfriend for the night.

    Basement Jaxx - FAN-tastic.

Franz Ferdinand - Looked excellent, promising for Oxegen.

The Ordinary Boys + Phil Jupitus - Superb. Great Specials cover.

Franz Ferdinand looked good alright as did Keane and Scissor Sisters, Kings of Leon didn't look up to much though.

gotta disagree on keane ,really didnt think they seemed that enagaging .granted it was prob alot better if u where lucky enough to be present there but i thought they where a bit boring. There 'sound' is too empty for me....bring out the rock!

not bad for a band with no guitars but they do have that tendancy to become boring i suppose, still i'm not bored with them yet........

Muse have cancelled Oxygen as Domnics' (The drummer) Dad sadly died of a heart attack at the side of the stage at Glastonbury just after their set.

    :(

That's not official. Oxegen is two weeks away, they're cancelling gigs for this week, nothing has been announced about Oxegen (not that i've read anyway).
NME.com said: 'Muse have cancelled their show in Bergamo, Italy, on Wednesday (June 30), with decisions on other shows pending.'

Poor Dom. That was the best gig they ever played and then his dad drops dead...poor guy :-(

Missed out on Scissor Sister, as they switched slots with the fatback band :(
I thought Keane were great, and Tindersticks.
Sir Paul was great too, and Orbital..

Yeah just about to post the same thing, theres no confirmation at all that the Muse Oxegen date will be cancelled, however its a possibilty I suppose.

Yes! He's obviously had his voice trained, and now his voice is RUINED. I hate oasis but it's a bit sad that the one thing that stood out above their dullard tunes - Liam's snarly voice - has gone.

Apparently they didn't go down too well with the audience, and they left big gaps between songs, there was no cohesion to the gig at all.
Muse, supergrass and Orbital played the best sets out of all the stuff I caught on BBC2 and BBC3!

Aye - I meant to say that in my original post - that the new voice sounded bloody apalling. One would have thought that Noel - the brains of the outfit - would have knocked that idea on the head

Lets just hope muse don't pull out, they're the only act that'll be on an open air stage that'll really rock hard. Ya need a bit of energy in the line up like when the prodigy ripped it up two years ago in fairyhouse.

    Orbital
    Terrific!!!

Basement jaxx seemed to step away from the dance music and they seemed more like a cabera show. I say I would like it if I was actually there, because it seems like they had some good musicans present, but I prefer the thumping electronic stuff with them.

Did you see the Liam and Noel sketch in bo selecta?? It had Liam being his usual self and Noel being really posh. Liam keeps putting his face straight into the camera.

    "AND ALL THAT SSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTEEEEEEE!!!".LOL:p :p:p

the Gallaghers in real life are far funnier than any sketch. Take one listen to the Wibbling Rivalry CD and you'll see what I mean, or failing that, there's an interview on the (I think) DVD of Songbird where the pair of 'em are sat down and winding each other up. Noel is a genuinely funny bloke, and Liam realises that he reached the self-parody thing ages ago, and feels he might as well continue it!

I'll have to check them out. What I loved about the sketch aswell were the dodgy paper mache faces.
