    Mac newbie.

I'm thinking of getting my hands on a Mac.

I've seen some in Buy & Sell for under €500.

Just wondering is something in this price range going to be a complete dog?

If you can get an iMac G3 (original shape) pref 500MHz or higher with lots of RAM for that money, then it'll run OSX reasonably well. If you want to use OS9 apps, then a 333MHz or better will be fine but you still need as much RAM as you can get. Depends what you want it for. If you're doing surfing, mail, MS Orifice etc with OS9 then an older one's fine. If you want to use latest graphic apps or video/music stuff you'll need something more capable with a G4. New eMacs are good value if you can go a bit more money.
