Attachments will only be 10MB in size max:(, I was hoping for maybe 30-35MB enough for a real media file of South Park....oh well it will be nice not running out of space:).

its gas that once g-mail was introduced that everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon saying "here lads... dont bother switching to the other side... we will give ye more space! no bother!"

so all along, hotmail and yahoo could have given more space but just didnt want to. what a load of funking funkers.

If I remember correctly, Hotmail were actually reducing the amount of space they offered. I think it went from 6MB to 4MB, and then down to 2MB.

Well done to Google for bringing about change, though.

That's precisely the case. Now MSN and Yahoo, in an attempt to usurp Gmail's potential users, are offering more space than previously deemed viable. Unbelievable. I know which webmail I'll be using - I'd rather use a company interested in innovating and evolving the markets that they work in...

Yeah me too. Besides, Gmail is just cooler!

But, for my needs, it makes little difference if it's 250MB or 1000MB. It's effectively unlimited, because I can't see myself using over 250MB for just emails.

BTW, if anyone would like to give me a Gmail invite, I'd really like it! (plazz2000 .: AT :. yahoo.co.uk) :)

Would there be any way for me to forward my current emails to a gmail account when I get one? Im sick of hotmail and it would be handy if any emails to my hotmail could be forwarded to gmail.

Forward hotmail messages to gmail (with an option to run on startup).

Has anyone here received an email to their Hotmail Inbox about the upgrades?

Hotmail and Yahoo offer a pay service. The decrease in size was to get people to try and pay for the service.

They had to up the space so not to lose so many users to gmail. Ahh well...
