Why have rte buried nypd blue in the dead zone of tv MOn/Thurs post midnight for the last year or so?

Considering the crap they put on prime time it's pretty hard to take.

The answer is in the question: It's RTE! They have repeatedly treated great programs like sh1t. I wish I were surprised by this, but alas it's all too common.

RTE seem to have a policy of showing crap in prime time slots while relegating quality programming to the dead zone.
The constant repeats of crap like friends really annoys me. They show Six Feet Under at 11:00 o clock, stop showing programs with no explanation and generally screw around. I watch far more on TG4 than on RTE.

They showed the whole newest series of that 70's show on sunday nights at 3 am. Perfect time for me cos im always up at that time anyway but otherwise it's ridiculous. It's still on now but as far as i know its not still new episodes.

They show third watch on thursday nights at about 11 something and when they get new series that could be really popular in their prime time slots, like monday night comedy they just dont advertise them at all. Dont ya think that 70's show woulda made a perfect replacement for friends

Not too mention RTE always changing the start time of late night shows like NYPD Blue and That 70s Show without any warning, Also not having Sky Plus series links.

Damn...I thought there had been some sort of link up between those 2 series. (NYPD and Dead Zone)

Did anyone watch NYPD "Green" last night - never seen it before but it was an excellent real-life documentary about cops in the states who work in the paedophile (wrong spelling) dept.

It showed some deadly cases where they chat with child perverts on the web (pretending to be young children), arrange a meeting place and then arrest them just before they go off for sex with the child (played by undercover cops).

Covered child prostitution setups as well.

Great viewing, did anyone watch this or know if its a regular show?

Did they have under cover cop midgets playing these children? A 6ft 2 "child" would be a dead giveaway.

Here's an email I got back from RTE after asking why That 70's Show was in the death zone:
I am in receipt of your email re above in which you express disappointment
that "That 70's Show" is now being shown at a time too late for you to watch.
We appreciate that viewers find it frustrating when programmes with which they
have become engaged are moved within our schedule. However, the fact that this
series has been re-scheduled to a later time indicates that it did not perform
sufficiently well in terms of viewer numbers to continue showing it during
    prime time
. Each programme in our peak time schedule must be judged, amongst
other things, on its competitiveness in a given time slot.
With regard to repeating the present series, there are no plans at the present
time to repeat the series, but I will log your comments in the Audience Log for
discussion at the weekly television Editorial Board Meeting.
    Best regards.
Bernie Fitzpatrick - RTE Information Office.
So it's all about the money. That's 70's Show did great when it was on before Friends at 8.30pm, but then they kept moving it around and it lost viewers.

    Public service broadcaster my arse...

Nah - they had a chinese girl who had just joined the force, think she was about 24 or thereabouts, she didnt look it tho, the paedophile believed she looked young enough so it must have worked.

I am not sure what they mean by that as they are repeating series 5 of That 70's Show at the moment and they haven't shown Series 6 yet.
