    Hey all,
Just trying to get everything organised for my inter railing trip and since i have no sturdy walking shoe i thought i might as well ask the good people of boards what they have and what shoes/boots they have used while inter railing or travelling abroad.

    Thanks

Does'nt really matter what type. When travelling the important thing is
socks. Shoes are only 50% of the equation. 1)Get a shoe size/trainer size half a size too big and 2) buy sports socks (essential) 3) make sure to break your brogues in before you leave.

Depends on what part of europe you are travelling it.. if its the hotter climates a
good pair of sandals cant be beat when you are just strolling around looking at the
sites, but for the travel in between I would definitely recommend a good pair of
light hiking boots which can be bought in any good outdoor store..

Dont skimp on these or you will suffer, the same goes for the socks as someone else
here said.. believe me, you wont enjoy your trip very much if you are hobbling around
on feet covered in blisters.. :dunno:

    Some links to lookup:

    Lowe Alpine Store
    Great Outdoors

Just to get an idea of what prices to expect to pay.

TkMax usually have a couple of pairs in stock - you might get a good brand for a reasonable price. If not, Elvery's usually have a great selection - they had a 60% off Sale last week - not sure if its still on tho - you might be lucky!
