I have a pc runnin XP m(with a bb connection)
And a laptop running me (with no internet)

I am attempting to network the two using a crossover cable. I have managed to share the internet connection and the laptop is now operating broadband but i dont know how to get the file sharing enabled.

When i click on network places and entire network on the laptop the pc is not seen and vice versa.

    Any ideas?

    Paul

Right click on the folders or drives you want to share on whichever computer, click Sharing, and enable it.

is the laptop setup to get its Ip address dynamically?

If not the internet might work but the xp machine wouldn't recognise it by name only by IP address. If it has a static IP you could access files by \\192.168.1.x\c$ etc.
