Using offset flat files with ADO

Folks I have a dat file which I want to import into an Access database using ADO 2.5(via a vb6 front-end). This wasn't a problem initially as the file was delimited but the provider has changed the file format to use offsets. I can no longer use simple SQL to import it. Does anybody know how to import an offset file…

I've decided to delimit the file myself (using the FileSystemObject library) and then import it using my original method. Just in case your wondering ...

you can do it using the ADO text file driver, but you need to configure a schema file.
