    Hi

Am working in IT industry at the moment but was looking to do a decent Accountacy course in the evenings! anyone ever do one of these? have checked in Blanch IT where I am based and they only do Accountant Technican which requires 2 years work experience!!

Is there any courses available where u can end up with a degree or something close to it?

I'm not 100% percent on this but this is how I believe accountancy works.
There's 20 exams you need to sit before you're a fully qualified accountant. You can sit them indivually or you can do a course which does a bunch of tehm together.
A friend of mine did a 3 year full time course in Dundalk IT and he's completed 15 of them.
I know of another guy who's doing them individually and he's at about the same point after 4 years but it's apparently cost him a lot more to do.
I don't know where you can do them but I thought that bit of info might help.

    Hi,

Senior College Dun Laoghaire along the Dart Line in Dun Laoghaire run a range of night courses in accountancy.

All deatils are availabe here www.scd.ie/evening.htm

They are very good and also very cost effictive as they are not for profit.
