I've decided to upgrade my graphics card but can't afford any high-end cards so my price range is small < 100 and the cheaper the better.

I currently have a 64mb Geforce 2 Mx so an upgrade is def needed.
Don't mind stickin to nvidia if its cheaper option but would change for an ati.

So what i'm lookin for is a 128mb nvidia/ati/other graphics card for under €100 or less.

The only place i've seen decent prices is http://www.jes-computer.de/catalog/default.php?cPath=161_103 but have no idea of whice one to pick.

I dont mind playin games on medium settings etc so high power is not necessity though i'm gettin a lot of slow-down latly in games such as joint-operation etc makin for sloppy online play

Help is really needed and appreciated (spellin)

    Balkie

I'd say the very minimum you want is a 9600pro or xt. I'd recomend a 9800pro but this is well outside your budget. Stay away from Nvidia for your next card. The Fx range is dire.

See if you can pick up a 9600pro or Xt cheaply somewhere. There was one for sale on boards a while ago for 90 euro.

Don't get a 9200. It would be a lot better than what you have now but it's a card that's already struggling.

yeah i'd be recommending the 9600 as well, perhaps you could get a non-pro version which would be a bit cheaper about 110 euro.

don't be fooled by the amounts of memory on them either, a 128mb 9600pro, will be better then a 256mb 9600 non pro.

you could also take a look at that radeon9550 card if you're really stuck for cash think they're around 75euro. better performance then the 9600 SE but poorer than the 9600 i think

thanx for gettin back to me

yeah the 9600 (pro or non-pro version) is lookin like my best choice.

Is there any sites around that you'd recommend for buyin a card off or just for comparing prices?

    cheers

Em wouldnt go for the 9600SE , its pretty bad. Id have a look at the forsale forum and pick up a 9600 there (or mabye a 9700). Komplett are out of the 128mb 9600pro, the 9600 is overpriced. Mabye the 9550 like data said?

Id look for a decent second hand card TBH.

Took ye're advice and went for a radeon.

Got a ATI RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB DDR AGP DVI + VGA for €105 so was just over my price range but didn't mind that.

My question is this: Is it a good card? and is it worth the price?

As ye were sayin how 9600 pro was a good buy i figured that the 9700 must be a better version but not quite up to the 9800 standards. Am i right?

    Thanx for the help.

not bad but you probably could have picked up a 9800pro 2nd hand for that price offering a healthy boost as opposed to the 9700pro's which are also still great cards at any rate.

Theres a online store using selling off computer parts using ebay, sum people dont trust ebay but i do also seller seems trustworthy ie got good feedback from other users. It would have been even cheaper if sum muppet hadn't bidded at the last minute and jacked the price up €10.
