The problem is as we are here in the middle of the Summer and the tempertures are rising I decided to turn the dial in the fridge up to 5 but the wife or nearly wife (next month) keeps turning it down to 1 saying 1 is the coolest but I say 5 is the coolest and each number is a degree of how cold the fridge is being 5 the coolest and 1 the warmest the motor is only barely ticking over.

At the moment is at 2.5 on the dial so we don't know whos right anyone know the answer to this question. I'm the man so I must be right.

Let her set it to 1, then make her eat all the rotten food when she realises that she's turned the fridge off. Then sit back and repeatedly say "I told you so; but would you listen? Nooooo, of course you wouldn't", all the while with a smug grin on your face.

2.5.... a nice compromise... you guys are so cute... *tear*

What make is it? And do you not have any booklets from it?
I'd go with 5 being the coldest, its the highest, and when you have a cooker, you dont expect the highest number to be the coldest, do you? Also you're a man, and we gotta all stick together

5 would be the coldest, I know as it is my sad, sad job to check fridges in the lab to be the right temp. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,875 ✭✭✭Seraphina

well that depends whether its a setting or degrees. it could be degrees and then you're ****ed cause she's right :p

5 is definately the coldest, I know from bitter experience, I put a fridge on 1 then went away for the weekend. Come monday I was almost overcome from the smell of the rancid milk on my cornflakes.....

    RTFM

Some fridges have dials in degrees C, others have settings.

Pah!! Everybody knows that you can't achieve Fridge Factor 5, the nearest you can go is 4.999.

Unless of course you happen to be Captain Janeway, who can magically turn around previous theorys of Fridge Factor's and go beyond Factor 5.

Geordie would be rolling in his grave!!

    Okay, okay.

Yo man, my fridge is so dope, it's subzero, just like Jeremy's 'Cool Wall'.

    Actually, heres an interesting question.
Why is it that fridges don't have a light in the freezer section. I can understand why you'd need one in the main part, ye know up in the middle of the night to get a drink or something. But what if I want to cook a pizza at two in the morning? Oh, look, I have to switch on the 'Big Light'. Damn thats wack-izzle

And then Jway turns into a salamander as does a piece of old cheese you had in the fridge, they go to the veg. storage box and reproduce.

To return to the original topic for a short while, my suggestion would be to RTFM

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

I can't believe that I finally registered just to point this out.

She says 1, you say 5. You "compromised" at 2.5...

    Shouldn't that be 3?

    She's winning!

Dammit, he's mentioned it enough times - he's a MAN!
Reading the instructions would be akin do welding the toilet seat down.
Anyways, it only goes up to 5? Time to overclock that bastard.

If you put a fridge within a fridge within a fridge... enough times can you get your beer down to absolute zero? Does anybody care?

At last the girlfriend (Wife next month) has seen the error of her ways and my beer is cold once again took a bit of convincing but showed her all the replies.

But I've warned her, not to queston my authority again and i've got 33 days to change my mind and not to mention that toilet seat ever again.

It a mans world I'm afraid she got to learn:D
