Visual problems???

    just wondering if anyone can help...

    i've got this major problem with my comp. every time a turn the computer on i get this weird visual effect on the screen. its like there's loads of random letters, characters, etc... or sometimes i just can't see some of the screen at all. i rang dell on friday last, and they told me it was a problem with the monitor, so they sent me a replacement. but i got the replacement this morning, and the same problem occured.

    i rang them again, and after about an hour of re-installing drivers, un-installing drivers, roling back the drivers, it finally seemed to be working. but an hour later, while playing a game, it went balls up again. i can only assume it's the graphics card, but i'm not sure. anyone have any idea's. and will dell take it back and fix it if i can't(it's less then a year old.)

    i'm using XP home, and have a 9800 radeon pro.

    Its just the graphics card initializing. Does it appear as a flash just before the welcome screen ? or before the load bar or right as the pc is turned on like before POST?

    it happens as soon as the computer is turned on. like when the dell logo apears. when i try to go into setup, i can't even see all the lines. some of it is blacked out.
