    This That Made The Rhymes

Slow metaphors have painted marble statues
The ink that you may choose to use
    In gazing at the stars

Carefully connected in the clearness of a morning
There shall be no baby forming
    In your dreams of monotone

Clothes that you collected to remember Summer days
Each one that you saved displayed the error of your ways
    In coloured waves

Every breath you choose to take in the stories you shall make
Shall paint one thousand smiles across the moon

Cacophonies rise to be found mirrored in the skies
You will find each note surprised
Like silence in the guise of some sunrise

This is one of my latest poems... I just thought I'd post it to see the general opinion. I'd love to see what you all think!!!

I do give credit where credit is due and in this case,
I think this is easily one of the best poems ever posted in creative writing.
Well done Beatrix...bravo...and all that sort of thing.

If you have more I would love to see you post them, I am very interested.

    :D

    The Cottage

    A flicker sparks
    To pass me by
    No orange glimmer
    For my eye
    A firestory
    To beguile
    But nothing said
    Is still worthwhile

    Darkness frames
    The window pane
    And battling stars
    Refuse to wane
    The grey cat licks
    Its soft, clean paws
    It's owner kneels
    To take a pause
    From daily life
    Irish housewife

You know, if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times:

The main reason I don't generally like poetry is because so often it is nothing more than lazyman's prose. There is so little effort, as far as time and commitment go, in most of the poetry I've read since I finished school - and the internet is a cesspool like no other - that I find it really hard to wade through the oceans of shite material in search of decent poetry. (Incidentally my own poetry is the worst your ever likely to read...)

But every now and again you find a piece of poetry that makes all the wading worthwhile. It renews your belief that in fact decent poetry does exist and, well, shit on a shingle if it isn't worth looking for.

Thanks Beatrix. Keep up the good work.

I agree with you shad0r, there is so much bad poetry written in the world, and everyone who writes nice poems is always modest.

There was no sugar for my tea
Life always bode that way for me

    Blue skies masquerade as sea
Pure white doves are crows to be

    What direction should I take?
The woody path or pearly gate?
I take the woody path to look
And see my way stopped by bad luck

The road not taken was probably best
    Words otherwise are only jest
Mark well the fact that I impart
The way to succeed is never start

Perhaps you will need your own thread for your posts if they will be mulitple, we shall see. I will think over the best way, maybe 3 poems per thread?
