Well here we go its win or bust! No altitude excuses this time.

Should we have gone for DOC in the 2nd row over MOK. That may be a bit harsh but DOC's agression may be what is called 4 on match day tomorrow.

Keep MOK on for 50-60 minutes then bring on DOC as an impact sub.

Hope we get a better display from Ireland this time, from the forwards especially.

I agree Howe is a crazy shout ..... give payne a shot in his homeland thats what I say. Also we have to either ditch the swirve or move him to the wing ... murphy has to go back to FB where he is lethal .... looked decidedly non threatening and predictable on the wing.

i have a feeling SA will be nonchalante this time, ire will be up for it - spread bet of selling SA at 5 points - should pay handsomely!

Out muscled. Plain and simple. The Boks, always the largest of people, have gone back to basics and simply blew our forwards out of it with tough aggressive play at the breakdown.

They also LIVED offside at the set pieces and breakdown but there';s ways around that. If the defensive line comes up fast to the tackle then just put the ball behind them and make them turn. They'll be going so fast in the other direction that they'll be at a disadvantage. We only did it twice that I can remember. Once it bounced off a defender's leg and led to a SA counter attack. The other time, O'Driscoll scored.

Rushing in your face defence like that is a SH trademark, especially by the Australians. It's so obvious that dinking the ball in behind them, like Humphreys did so well, is their Achilles heel. Remember back over the years how many times it's been done to good effect. Guscott for the Lions in 89. Staples for Ireland in that quarter final in 91. Prehistoric references maybe but I'm amazed we don't try it more often.
