have a small problem with an insert in VB.NET....i keep getting a compilation error and i cant seem to see where the problem is....any help much appreciated code: sql_insert = "insert into testTable (ID, DESC) values ('" & _ ID & "', '" & DESC & "')"

BC30203: Identifier expected.

and i cant seem to see where the problem is....any help much appreciated

Take out the underscore.

sql_insert = "insert into testTable (ID, DESC) values ('" & _ ID & "', '" & DESC & "')"

or start a new line directly after it.
