Have you ever lost a family pet that you were really close to? Well this may help with the grieving process.

That page gave me a bout of the laughs that just won't stop !

Well considering my pet rabbit just died last week, I find that page pretty upsetting :(:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Kêrmêttê

Thats a pretty sick thing alright. Even though the cooked "rabbit" in the pic is obviously chicken it's still a gross thing to even contimplate.
Pets are NOT food... you should never eat a fuzzy friend! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,191 ✭✭✭Unpossible

    Pets are NOT food
so if you kept hens you wouldn't eat them or their eggs? If you had a pet lamb\pig (yes some country ppl have them) you wouldn't eat them?

That's quite right I wouldn't eat any of my pets. It wouldn't matter what sort of animal they were. Pets to me are included in the family unit or like a friend. They have personalies, they communicate (in their own way), they look to their owners for recognition, care and affection.
How could anyone eat a family member or a mate??
I know in rural areas kids can have pet lambs or pigs and they usually end up as Sunday lunch eventually, but, I personally couldn't do that.

What the hell is wrong with you people.

How can you be so blinkered as to not see the similarities between Grendel (the rabbit)
and 401-97B (the steak you bought in Superquinn last week).

Grendel, ran around the garden, ate bananna and parsley, lived a full natural life and then died.

401-97B was born lived until he was 3 whereupon YOU PAID for him to be bundled into the back of a lorry, driven down the country and then shot with a bolt through the brain.

    You're the sick fu**ers.

can you picture it, the dish is placed in the centre of the table next to the spuds, Mother lifts the lid to reveal..... Rex, skinned and oven baked (two hours at 220 200 for fan assisted ovens) lying in his favourite position with an apple in his mouth. Deeply touched, I wipe a tear from my eye, Rex is going out the way he lived, half baked.:D

I would have little issue with that - except for the fact that dogs TASTE HORRIBLE (as does any meat fed animal)

Baby Carrot was born and lived for four weeks whereupon YOU PAID for him to be ripped out of the ground, have his head sliced off, thrown into a giant pot shaped veg peeler lined with sandpaper, spun round and skinned at high speed, deep frozen in ice and vacuum packed for your consumption...

    YOUR THE SICK Ba$tard!!

well nobody gave a flying f*ck what they ate a hundred years ago vegetarianism is a silly practice made up by t.v.

if my dog can eat his own poo then by god I can have rabbit!

*that is rabbit meat not rabbit poo

you mean rabbit meat, right ? not rabbit poo.

to be fair, vegetarianism is not a silly practice, and I don't believe that the amount of meat most people eat can be entirly healthy. food is to easy to get for us westeners.

How many of you condemning the original post laughed uncontrollably at the ending of The Simpsons "Pinchy" episode, eh?

Troll or not, I don't see anything particularly abhorrent about eating a pet. Especially if they were taken care of in life and died healthily. I can't say I'd enjoy the prospect of eating something that died from kidney failure...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 687 ✭✭✭kano476

western society has made us too picky about food because we have too much of it and its readily available.

as some comedian once said: "have you ever seen a poor african child that was lactose intolerant?"

All meat is a dead animal, folks. It doesn't make any difference if it had a name or not. Hamburgers don't grow out of the ground in the happy hamburger farm like McDonalds told you they did.

Maybe one day people will learn to distinguish 'this disgusts me personally' from 'this is inherently morally wrong and sick and you should burn in hell for it'. Just think, a hundred years ago you would have had next to no reaction from eating a deceased pet, but if you'd been a homosexual, everyone would have said exactly the same things about disgust and sickness and burning in hell! Isn't humanity great?

Not quite as good as the water cooling disaster or case mod on the dual G4, but you'd like to be able to watch peoples reactions as the read the page..

Won't somebody please think of the children
laughed uncontrollably at the ending of The Simpsons "Pinchy" episode, eh?
    piiiinncchy, awwwwww

to all vegatarians why do we have canine teeth if not to eat meath with? Is a rabbit not an animal, if you cut it does it not bleed? If you boil it does it not make a stew? Hath not a rabbit eyes, ears a...... woah acid flashback good thing im not driving a bus right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

sheer brilliance...not just the post but everything...this has been one of my favourite posts in months....luv it.

    Simply put.

Read the post. Whether or not it is real what he did makes sense. Whats the difference between burning, eating or letting rot the cropse of an animal? To him eating shows more respect..and in a skewd way it does...

personnally i wouldnt simply cause its too much effort and if you look at the pets i have had...well cats would prob taste terrible. My Dog is far too old and sick (god knows wha i would catch) I dont like fish. Chipmunks...too much effort for not enough meat.

I agree with original posters, i dont think its cruel, its unusual and i wouldnt do it. But heck thats why i give good money for someone else to do it to an animal i dont know and make it look nice (and make sure (I HOPE) that its clean)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

    also

does anyone else love how he writes the piece...it just sets the tone of being mentally disturbed perfectly it is so clearly set up by how it is written. The person who wrote does can get an A in LC english if not a degree its so eerie....perfect

p.s listening to classical music like beethoven really adds to the piece....

next he'll be talking about a bit of ultraviolence
