I am also travelling to thailand for a month begininng August 4th I plan on bringing a combination of all I would think, if you dont mind me asking how much are you planning on spending over the two month period? I'm still in between amounts because everyone tell's me its hard to get rid of money over there!

    Yo,

Ive been to Thailand twice for a total of two months. The first time I brought Travellers checks but it aint worth the hassle, u also get screwed on commision rates if you are outside a big town. The second time I went I brought my Banklink card and my visa card and they worked perfect. So much easier and works out cheaper!

Have a lot of fun :)

    oh one more thing,

It is cheap but youre on holiday so you do spend money. It aint that hard to get rid of it! If you drink a lot then your money will go fairly quickly! Drink is very expenisve compared to everything else in thailand. But thats why youre there!!!

I'm going next month and I was going to bring US dollars. Are these accepted everywhere and I was also going to bring my Visa but if my banklink card would work arebank link machines located every where.

I'm going to Phuket and Bangkok

Spent 3 weeks in Thailand start of last year and had no bother with my pass card or visa. As long as your normal atm card has a cirrus or plus logo on the back you're grand

Yo US Dollars can be exchanged anywhere but I never saw anywhere that accepts them instead of Thai Baht. U will get screwed on commission! Its a different story in Cambodia and other places in that area.

    Yo,

Yep been in July twice. Nah just bring the suncream! It will rain but no that much. It just downpours for a little bit then the sun comes out again :) I never had a full day of rain in the 8 weeks Ive been there. Koh Samui seemed to the wettest place we were.

So the rain isn't like we get here??
Is it actually sunny, clear skies then clouds roll in for an hour or so it rains heavy then clear skies again?

dollars are pretty much useless in thailand, the exchange rates you get are terrible.
there are atms all over the place, esp if you're going to be in highly developed places like phuket and bangkok
Try to take out as much as you need for a week at a time if possible, as the charges can be high.

When it rains over there it really fucking rains, i caught the tail end of the rainy season when i was there, but it was never more than a few hours of torrential rain, then the sun would come out and it'd be dry again in half an hour
