    'lo all,
I'm trying to sort out printing from my G5 - Panther with all the latest updates to a linux LPD print server attached to a HP LaserJet 2100.

I have it set up but it's not working properly - when I print anything I just get about 1 quarter of the (top left of the) page printed - blown up to the full A4 sheet.

I can print fine to the printer using Unix/Linux and Windows.

I've looked online and not found anything similar to this - I've changed every setting I can find in the print services thing too.

    I really haven't a clue what's wrong - anyone got any ideas?

What application/s are you printing from?
Do the other 3 quarters of the page print ?
Have you checked the server logs for any error messages ?
What version/distro of Linux have you got on the server?

printing from project builder, acrobat, safari ...
the other 3 quarters don't print at all. it's like it's trying to print A3 to A4 or something - so the printer just prints as much as it can.

I've the page size set to A4 but to no avail.

there's nothing at all in the logs.

it's RedHat 8 on the print server afaik.

Does it hapen when you print a test or calibration document from the printer control panel ? I notice an option for magnification there for up to 400% that does what you describe when I tried it!

It sounds like a setting on the mac side of things, I don't have access to that model of printer to try out any further tests - maybe some other soul with more knowledge can help ?!

I'll check that next time I'm in the office. I'm hoping it's something like that, a setting I just didn't see.
    cheers.
