ring your local motor tax office and ask them. Or look on oasis.ie. That should get you a definitive answer quicker than you would get here.

As far as I can see, yes you will.

Go into the tax office when it's quiet and have a chat with the lads behind the counter. I got a duplicate licence for nothing once (it's only €4, but still) by doing that.

The only things is that it says to use the normal application if you want to add categories where a test isn't required (M, W for example if you have a full B licence), so there may be a separate form. I very much doubt it though.

    No, they won't.

Just give in your current full car licence, your provisional (for the bike), and your Cert. of Competency (from the driving test) and they'll print you out a new full licence with both the car and the bike on it.

    There's no charge.

You will, however, need two new pictures and a new signature (from the application form).

    Regards,
    Tommy.

Just to emphasise the point Tommy made coz there's a bit of confusion out there:
you won't be charged again for adding the A category to your licence. I did this last year and was pleasantly surprised to get my cheque back in the post with new licence.
Send your old licence and 2 new photos and you'll be sorted.
    HAND
