I don't know the answer to your question but let us know how you get on with this laptop. It's an amazing price.

Watch out , think the keyb might be german........... ie mixed up keys when compared to qwerty ones (slightly different i think).

the @ and and " are the other way round easy enough to fix

How do you fix that (you can see I'm serioously considering buying one of these!)? Is it a case of replacing the keys?

what other things could "arise" from getting a German laptop?

Things that come to mind would be....

German Software and you will prob need one of those little power adapters to plug it in (think there pretty common, most electrical shops have em). Other than the Keyb i cant think of anything else TBH

does a german keyboard not have more differences than " and @. I would have thought that some other keys (usually z and p or q)would be different not to mention the fact that it would have keys like this :ä ö

it's only a problem if you touch type and you can get used to it (been there done that tshirt etc), plus i'm sure you could set up xp so that the keyboard layout responds to the english key positions. and use a ps2 keyboard when you're at home/desk with the machine.

otherwise if you'r looking for a german laptop bargain try computeruniverse as they do english keyboard machines iirc
