Just wondering how many people have got rid of their dial up modem or would not include one if they were building/buying a new pc?

Always handy to have ,check the BB forums for posts with the word "down" in it.

See they usually posted "my isp down" whilst surfing on their 56k.
they like €5 nowadays so should get one for that just in case moment.

The reason I posted it in the broadband forum was to see how confident people were in their broadband! Or are they keeping a 'backup'.

I originally posted in bb for the reason explained above.

I didn't get a dial up modem with my new computer, or a floppy disk drive for that matter. They cost extra and I didn't have that extra €30 to spend!

Don't have one. I reckon I can survive the odd hour or, in UTV's case, day without internet access.

As above^: I have no use what-so-ever for floppys or 56Kb modems I'm also begining to wonder about my cd drive - it hasn't been touched in 9 months, BB really spoils you;).

Any chance of transferring this back to the Broadband forum as I really do think it has a relevance there?
