How strong should be the bow to hit 90m?

ATM, with 36 lb bow I can hit 70m, but the sight is at the lowest position. So to shoot men's FITA I need stronger limbs, but how much stronger? Any advice?

its possible to hit 90 with 36lbs, you can move sight inwards and if needed reverse the sight (basically put the sight on backwards) giving more sight room.

Mikhail, will you be practicing 70m at ucd anytime this week, i need to confirm my sight marks before the competition, i can come out to the college at anytime that suits you, even if its only for a hour or so, that should be enough,

Or does anyone know somewhere i could practice 70m, before friday (in walking distance of public transport)

You can come any time. I am pretty flexible, usually shooting in the evening, at 5-7. Just give me a call.

I managed Mens FITA(score 1001) with a ~34lbs goldmedalist back in 2000 - at 90m I had to move the sight *all* the way in, and basically as far down as it would go without interfering with the arrow.

Back in the days of the Junior Irish Team there was a girl(s) on it who had to invert their sight to get 60m - always an option.

I would also recommend getting your hands on a scope - very hard to see where the arrow has gone at 90m.

Aiming at the flag could work as well - was shooting 2214s at 60m with this method the other day :)

    Regards
