Maybe the boards.ie administrators should consider transferring the website to a professional host.

With recent outages and worse, serious data loss, I'm sure the boards sponsor blacknight solutions would provide hosting as part of their sponsorship.

Fair play to all the unpaid work put in by loads of people, but it's time to move on. This kind of data loss would not be permittable in any commercial organisation. Proper professional backups and SLA's for uptime are now needed.

    What do you think?

(it should be noted that I work for boards.ie's hosters)

The downtime of today and last weekend have had absolutely nothing to do with the hosting company's equipment or connectivity. Last weekend was due to hardware failure, and today was due to mysql corruption. I can't see how changing hosting provider could change that in any way.
