Great shots, is that cillan murphy in picture 2? I can't wait to see it. I hope it's gonna old skool with hardly any CG. Really looking forward to Ken Watenbe as Ra-Al Ghul, I heard all his dialogue is in Japanese!

Why is that a good thing?
Ra's al Ghul is of Middle Easten descent, right?
I mean the name is Arabic for "The Demon's Head", so why are his lines in Japanese?
The character isn't Japanese.
From the photo's i've seen of Ken Watanabe, with the right wig and make up he could resemble the Ra's al Ghul of the comics and cartoons but i'm really not sure about him being chosen for the role.
They shouldn't be tailoring the character to the actor, it should be the other way around.
Get an actor to fit the role.

I don't think that will happen One of the screen writers is David Goyer who co-wrote blade 2 and that was heavy on the cg the fights looked sooo fake. Also I read a report that some of the action scenes he is writing is way over the top.

Yeah the constume looks very buffed up, but the insiders said it was just normal everyday material, but it sure doesn't look like it.

I take it most of you have seen Christian Bale in American Psycho he is pretty well built anyway it wouldnt take a lot to make him big enough to fill the bat suit

He bulked up specifically for that role.
So i'm sure he'll do whatever's necessary for this role.

I saw a picture of him just before shooting began ( happened to be topless ) and he is very big in the chest and arms area, more so than American Pycho.

Writing it has nothing to do with deciding how much cg will be used.
He's also directing Blade Trinity, which is supposed to have much less CGI than the previous two and more old fashioned stunt work.
If Goyer is involved with the writing, it should be pretty solid.

Christopher Nolan is a pretty sound director. His first two big films have both been very high quality pieces: Following & Memento. I reckon this Batman's gonna be dark & yummy.

Yeah, Nolan is a quality director alright, but personally i'd have prefered Darren Aronovsky (he of Requiem for a Dream fame). Apparently he wanted to do a straight adaptation of Batman: Year One, which Nolan's film is only taking elements from. But i can understand why the studio didn't go for it - no costumed villains and the police are the bad guys? Plus they'd have been wary of Aronovsky considering his 'leftfield' track record. Still, i have high hopes for this one. The casting is nigh on perfect.

Christian Bale's renowned for being a method actor and piling on the pounds for parts. He worked out sooo much for American Psycho so imagine he'll be back to his former "physical prowess" for Batman.

looks cool, cant wait to see this film,i think Bale is perfect as the role of batman and no doubt will beef up as required for the role .

on a side note: Saw Killian Murphy down in Cork tonight, couldnt belive my eyes!
