What is the biggest size memory you can get for these type of cards. ive seen 256MB in the sony shop in town for €149, but im sure larger cards can be bought, the guy in the shop said 256 was the largest, but he was about 17 and didnt really know what i was talking about. what other companys make DUO sticks, im looking for a 512MB or maybe a 1GB one depending of the price.

    Thanks

the only Memory Sick Duos over 128MB I've seen are Memory Stick Pro Duo with 512MB being the largest at present - you'd need to make sure your device is compatible with Pro Duo sticks if you are thinking of getting that type

apart from Sony, Sandisk and Lexar also supply Duos

Ive seen a Sony 256MB Pro Duo for €149, which is alright (ish), but i got a quote for €440 for a 512MB and €849 for 1GB Duo pro in the same shop (sony center in galway), why would the cost per MB triple when you buy a bigger card?, i think i will just buy 2 x 256MB? Its a Sony T1 digital camera and it takes Duo Pro's. Sweet camera but the cost of the cards is mental. I cant find anywhere online that does the 256/512/1GB cards which arent sony?

Komplett have a Sandisk 512mb MS pro DUO due for confirmed delivery on 22/6 for only 151.25. That looks like a bargain to me. Its the last one in the list.

higher capacities for (m)any memory card come at a premium (due to their more recent appearance) e.g. compare SD cards 256MB $90 and 1GB $500 (quoting sandisk retail prices)

1GB Pro Duo's aren't available yet, even 512MB are a relatively new addition with low supply

the cost of the cards is mental here alright - to get a card of the higher capacity you want you either have to wait (a good while) or take a chance ordering from the US or Asia...

I don't buy a memory cards off the street in this country, the prices some places charge is just silly money - an exception would be the likes of www.shop4memory.com for lower capacity cards although they don't stock higher capacity Pro Duo's as yet... - keep an eye on amazon.co.uk in the future too...

Would mostly pick them up when travelling now as the price difference can be so large - i know this is no help if you can't get an US order forwarded on here but an enlightening price comparison to the quotes you got all the same... SanDisk Pro Duos
