func's are great for opticals if it's made by func then it should be good.

p.s you won't get the mouse clips you get with an proper func1030 (not saying the alienware isn't) also the alienware ones ain't as big but probably a fine size enough

Yeah I got an alienware one about 6 months back, it's about 12"x8" which is hella big, works a charm with my optical mouse, got a small cable holder thingy with it too which is kinda useful. I'd definitely fork out on one, esp you do alot of graphics work or fps gaming.

Is the mousepad slippery if you use it without a base?

I want to remove the mouse pad from the base, I don't like that oval thing on top, I like perfect streight sides

You'll have to use some masking tape or some form of tape without the base, and you do get the mousecable clip you get with a normal func. Just not flashy tin which is shít anyway.

the base is kinds rubber and it does come with a mouse cord clip.
2 surfaces too, one slippy the other has a bit more friction in it

you prolly threw it away! the clip is attached to the envelope, I almost threw it away myself! good thing I tore to envelope and the clip feel out!
