    Specs:http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/1/190s5cs_05/190s5cs_05_pss_eng.pdf

Looks like a nice monitor very similar to 193p from samsung only problem is that its only D-sub/analogue vga no DVI but if the analogue connection is good it shouldnt matter

    Price circa £440-450 stg

    User review from ocuk:

Well its come this afternoon, nice sturdy box about same size as my 172x and its in A1 condition.
Plugged it in works perfect,no dead pixels well packed with a layer of clear plastic taped over the whole screen area, the easy pull of stuff btw so no stupid adhesive marks left behind.
Installed drivers and used auto function to set screen (havent calibrated properly yet).Have it setup side by side with my 172x (172x >dvi and 190S5CS >d-sub) in dual configuration from my radeon 9800 pro.

The philips is a lot bigger by comparison (see pics) and has alot more height adjustment, stand is sturdy with 2 large springs under neath the cable tidy peice of plastic that clips over it.

First thing i wanted to do was test games as thats my main worry here.
There is no difference in picture quality between the the two or as far as i can tell.

    UT2004 -- No ghosting
    F1 challenge 99-02 with rh2003 mod -- No ghosting
C+C generals zero hour -- No ghosting
Call of duty -- No ghosting (starting to see a pattern here)
    Painkiller -- No ghosting
3D mark 2003 (ok ok not a game) -- No ghosting

Episode of sopranos (season 3 disc2) plays great and no blurring that i can see great pciture.

In short "it does exactly what it says on the tin" always wanted to say that

hmmm ive been looking for a quality 19" tft for a while now, saw this review already. it looks class but not having DVI would be a big thing for me. i dont see why they didnt include it.

it seems it depends on the monitor, on my dell 18" tft the vga is noticeably worse that dvi, but apparently on vga only monitors the difference is negligible??

For example the lg flatron 1720 ?

It looks a lovelt monitor imo, i might go for one, for the price the specs are very impressive imo the only 19" at the moment to beat it is the very expensive sammy 193p
