Skateboarding Video

There are loads of skateboarding videos out there. I've bought a video camera and a digital camera and over the last few months i've collected LOADS of great footage and photos of people skateboarding. Now im making one big video, probably going to make it with Movie Maker 2, it'll do the job, and i need your help.

Basically i need your ideas for the video such as what song to play during the video and things like that. Also if you are artisitc im looking for images for the intro of the video. Plus, I could post a few photos for you to mess around with to throw into the movie.

At the credits at the end everyone who helps and gives helpful advice will be put in the credits

Post this in the Audio/Video Editing forum, you should get a few responses.

I absolutely wouldn't recomend using Movie Maker. You'll find yourself with an image in your head of something you want to do without software capable of doing it.

How long were you thinking of making it? Immerse yourself in existing skate videos and see what it is you like about them. It's all about pace, every edit will be crucial.

You need punk.

Mostly obscure, underground bands, doing songs with lots of screaming and medium to fast riffs.

That's what makes a good skate video.

Mate of mine has a Pornstar vid with savage boarding, great music, funny inbetweeny bits (Lynn Strait off his head at some skatepark) and plenty of mild nudity.

Best I've ever seen.

Tis all a matter of opinion, I used to love skatin to that song! More songs that just came to my head would be:

actually, my apologies, just realised they had some skaters in their vids.
although that was just to look cool.
also that gay skater in that gay song last train home.

as for your intro, start off with something good, make sure your video and images go along with the intro ! Personally id do something like RATM or something, not skate music but might look good.

check out the intros for Tony Hawks Games, might give u a good direction

Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for all your helpful advice. This video is taking ages but i am finally at the finals stages.

Now I need help with one more thing before its finished. I am going to put in photos at the end of the video like looking back at the memories and all that kinda thing.

Now graphics designers, heres where you come in. Below is a list of about 12 photos. I dont want to put them in the way they are as they will look too plain so basically i want your creativity to take over.

Edit these photos in whatever way you want. I just want them to look good for the video. If you want to put in their names too.. the tall thin one is Donal, the other is Martin

I must recommend that you check out Guttermouth's "Do the Hustle" off the Golden Monkey album. That's a skateboard song. Even if you don't use it, listen to it.

Warning! Some my find the lyrics crude and offensive (others may just find them amusing).
