Dont know if this is any help but heres a link to the A7N8X volt mod........ prob very simular. If not try the forum, much more specialised views about it there!!

    http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=167297

PS i think there is no reason for doing this mod on the Asus as the FSB (HT) isint your problem, its the lack of AGP/PCI lock. The mod increases your chipset voltage which helps with FSB............. your board would prob go 300mhz+ if it had a proper lock.

    Added the link anyway.

well im actually overcloching with a mach II system and was looking to get a 1ghz overclock, you need the extra voltage to get these kind of overclocks, so i need a guide on how to do it.

Well unless you have an AGP/PCI lock on your motherboard all the volt mods in the world wont help. You have a great cooler but unless you can find a way to stop overclocking your Graphics card , hard drives, PCI Cards etc when you increase the FSB over stock then your fighting a loosing battle.

The CPU isint going to be the one to give up first, neither is the FSB (HT) its going to be in the form of hard disk corruption, gfx failure.......etc. That mod worked well on the NForce2 boards because they had the lock and the FSB was their limiter.

With a MachII you should be looking at an NF250 board, that would make a huge difference and should hit 300-350mhz FSB which makes for a huge overclock. Also the AMD64 doesent suffer a performance hit from running your memory out of sync with FSB so you can use dividers (no memory is going to hit 300+ unless your really lucky).

Do you have a different way of stopping this? Ie a 66mhz Hard disk controller etc? Feel free to inform me if im missing something.....

It will actually overclock an fx51 to about 2.8 because tou can put the multiplier up to 14 without changing the FSB from 200, so i dont think that effects the agp and pci slots, the fx chips are unlocked. :)

Ahh yes that makes more sence!! But what will an FSB volt mod help?

The majour voltage tweak would be the CPU Vcore wouldnt it? If the FSB is staying at 200mhz then the extra voltage to the chipset isint going to make any difference?

[edit] Or are we thinkin of a different voltmod? Which voltage is the one you want to mod?

to be honest i dont know, i was told i would need to do a volt mod on the motherboard, i think it is the vcore, i was told you could get it up to 2.2V bios only allows 1.550V, maybe sum1 could help me here, Wat volt mods would i need to do for the best overclock?

That board should give you more of a range than that. Did you try a BIOS update? Whats the max Vcore you can muster up? (u mite have to set something to user define before it will let you do anything).

Definetly you DONT want to be messing with volt mods if you dont have to. Its the Vcore your looking to increase, the chipset volt mod would be of no use to you what so ever (thats what people generally mean when they say volt mod).

i thought there was a load of different volt mods you can do, memory , chipset, vcore etc? i just need to get more voltage to d cpu than the bios will allow, thats basically it

Yea i know there is (read the various posts above) , the one people think of when you say a volt mod would be the chipset one and not the Vcore or Ram........ is worth mentioning which one your looking for from the start ;)

Have you tried a BIOS update? Are you sure there arent any settings your missing?
Have you thought about a socket mod to increase the voltage (if its possible with FX's)?

Like i said before you really dont want to be getting into volt mods if you dont have to , if you f*ck up with the socket pin mod then its fine, if you f*ck up a volt mod then your talkin serious damage .
