    OOAL presents:

    Giveamanakick
    GOLF
    The Soldiers Take Half

The Voodoo Lounge, Arran Quay, D7
    Thurs 17 June
    9pm, €6

giveamanakick are Keith (drums, vocals, can of coke, sugar bowl) and Steve (guitar, vocals, belly slaps). Having formed from the still twitching corpses of Limerick bands, Calzino Fiasco and Tooth, they’ve been deafening audiences around Ireland for over a year now with their own unique brand of noisy, riff-mangling Rock n’Roll.

Having played with various rock luminaries and NME darlings such as The Icarus Line, Ex-Girl, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Poke, Electric Eel Shock, The Soledad Brothers, Melt Banana, The Hanson Bros, Black Eyes and Rocket From the Crypt amongst others, giveamanakick decided to record and unleash their musical wrath on the unsuspecting public. Having drawn comparisons to bands like the Pixies, Husker Du, Quicksand and Helmet, they knew it was time…

"Is It OK To Be Loud, Jesus?" is the title of giveamanakick’s debut long player. Here’s what people are saying about it:

"This is a live show in your lounge room and I cannot sit here, inertly another second!"
Careless Talk Costs Lives - December 2003

"Bloody fantastic… one of the Irish punk rock releases of the year 7/10"
    Hot Press Magazine

"Giveamanakick's debut album pummels and grinds like nobody's business, unleashing sheets of noise, mantra-like swirls, dramatic curveball chord changes, motor-mouth bawling and the occasional ****ed up Pixies-style pop song. Aces. 3.5/5"
    Foggy Notions, Issue No 2

GOLF are two members of legendary Limerick rockers tooth and a wunderkid drummer playing groove-locking dischordant rock a la Jesus Lizard and Shellac

The Soldiers Take Half play emotionally charged riff tastic kinda stuff without a 4/4 beat in sight
