    the os is 2000. The rich32.dll is from another forum suggestion so I do not know what it. I am trying to give permissions to a users on the security tab so that they cannot a folder or drive.

    My recommendation is to get rid of that rich32.dll file...especially if you've no idea what it does!

    It could be blocking the functionality that you're looking for. Since it's not a Windows file, it shouldn't be needed to enable sharing.
