Internet connection sharing

    Hey there lads, i been wrecking me head for a a few days on this one, i had 2 different small networks setup to share the isdn connection, one is xp the other is 2000, they worked for a while until i gave the pcs static ip addresses, then the other pcs can't connect even if i change it back, ive run out of stuff to try any ideas??

    I don't know how you expected it to work. ICS _requires_ your internet connected machine to be a DHCP server, and all machines connecting to it to use DHCP.

    You can download a proxy instead if all you want is shared HTTP (and perhaps a few other protocols) access. Have a look at the AnalogX one. Its quite good, and very simple once you read the documentation.

    No, it doesn't need DHCP.

    Just to backup up hostyle. All PC's need to be set to obtain an ip address automatically and the pc with the isdn connection needs to act as a dhcp server. When you enable ICS in Win2k or XP it sets it up for you. All you need to do is ensure that the client pc's are set to the above.

    Incidently, i've used Proxy from the Analog X website and it is quite good.
