Powermacs now have dual 2.5GHz G5s and..

Airport Express is a wireless base station that plugs straight into a power socket (resembles the power adapters for iBooks). The coolest features is something apple are calling 'Air Tunes': An audio jack on the base station lets you plug it straight into an amplifier and stream your mp3s or whatever. This is all supported transparently through iTunes.

Nifty. Now if only I had the money for all this stuff...

I actually have a question about this Aiport Express thing.

I have a G4 Flat Panel iMac, and can't for the life of me remember if the Airport card was included.

I've checked in the system configuration, and I can see the airport tab, but when I open it, there is nothing there.

I have a whole load of Airport Utilities on the hard drive, and when I open the Airport set up thing, it says that no airport can be found. I think this might mean there is no base station, but it could also mean there's no card.

Now, if I don't have an airport card, can I get one added? I really like the sound of the AirTunes functionality.

Yeah but they don't make it very clear that you have to buy a €45 stereo connector in order to use it as a music streamer. Suddenly it doesn't seem all that attractive anymore! €200 quid is a lot, you can get similar from Creative and Netgear for less.

it appears as if they only have dual processor G5s there now.

did anyone notice if there was a price drop on the dual 1.8 because of this new dual 2.5?

    rumours about a 30inch flat panel?!? the 23inch is already 2500, maybe 4500 for the 30inch? :D

the artist's rendition doesnt do much for the displays.
and im only new to having a mac, but the adc is cool! there should be support for dvi and adc. it's so handy to have 1 wire to your monitor and plug in keyboard + mouse + pendrive into it.

Seriously? I was under the impression it used standard analog phono jacks or an optical cable. Most people have a few of those lying about the place.

    Ye:
"Music lovers should be aware that the stereo connection kit for the AirPort Express will cost an extra EUR45."

The audio out jack on this unit is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack socket.
Common to most portable mini-disk recorders it offers an optical output on the same socket but otherwise you just need to buy a 3.5mm stereo jack to <insert your connector here> in order to connect it to your stereo.

I ike the twin 1.8GHz G5's . . might be tempted to splash out ya know !

for an extra euro in the price they could have included one, im sure a lot of people will buy it to find out they have to go and get the cable when they're at home and try to use it
