hi, does anybody remember a cartoon called the gummy bears? It was on about 15 years ago, and they drank gummy berry juice and lived in the woods. I know it sounds terrible but it was actually very good. The thing is my son is now five and im wondering if anybody knows if its on any tv stations at present or where i can get hold of some videos?? Many thanks

It was a brillant cartoon, I used to watch it on the Den when I was in primary school, it was also on UTV on Saturday mornings as well. Haven't seen or heard of it in years though so I am afraid I can't assist you in getting any copies of it.

No sign of it being on DVD - it wasn't quite cult enough. Also, to be picky, it's called "Gummi Bears" and not "Gummy Bears". All I have is the theme tune...

Disney made it. You'd think that this would mean a DVD release sooner or later but looking at this page, even though there were 62 episodes apparently made t's odd that season had only 9 episodes and season 3 had only 5 (even accounting for the SAG strike which happened around then if I remember rightly). I certainly don't remember seeing anywhere near 62 episodes of the thing. Mind you, by 1990 I probably wasn't all that concerned about gummi bears.

Gummi Bears is still on SKY Digital.

It's on one of the kids channels (The Disney Channel, I think) at about 6am. I remember seeing it a few months ago, and I recorded it for nostalgia purposes.

You can get gummi bear episodes on emule, but that probably illegal so don't do it.

Australian eh? Do Disney have an Oz studio or did they just stamp their name on an indie production?

Wouldn't necessarily pay too much attention to that. IMDB lists the country of the financing company (as this is how it's apparently done). It also lists the Teenage Mutant Hero Trtles as American despite many of them being made in Dublin and the late 80s Mission Impossible series as American even though it was done in Oz to get round the actors' or writers' strike (if I remember rightly, I may not)
