    Hi,

I have a Dell dimension 4300, XP (home), 1.7 Ghz, P4, Audigy 2, Geforce fx 5700, 512Mb RAM and a pain in my left testicle with the pc stalling.

only happens when I have film or music playing, the whole pc stops responding, nothing works except turning it off using ON/OFF button, which isn't good for anyone.

While it is in it's 'hang' state there is a high pitch whine from speakers which is deafening if music was loud before the 'incident'.

Anyone had this prob before or know what is the cause, and how I amy rectify it.

    Thanks

    Joe

I have a couple of programs I use for media, vlc player (plays everything, free on net), real player (for website wavs), windows media player, Quicktime, and wmp classic, prob too much.

Will try that Joepc, just not yet as I am backing up files to external HD, Maxtor 120 Gig.

    Thanks

    Joe
