Yep its true apparently hes in talks to produce a Star Wars television series set after the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi

It will continue the stories of Han, Luke and Leia, but i cant see Harrison ford or carrie fisher returning to there respective roles, Mark hammill will probabaly most definitely return

Look for this after Episode 3 naturally

saw that on the news heads that scroll aross the bottom of the screen on tv3's ireland am show this morning and was wondering what it was all about.

I suppose it'll be the struggle by former Republican guard elements and alien Insurgents who are trying to destablise the occupying forces of the alliance of creating a free and democratic galaxy.

    hmm...deja vous?

It sounds as if he'd like another go at a series like The young indiana young chronicles. I didn't think they were all that great, but they weren't bad and didn't take anything from the films.

If he does go ahead with a TV series, hopefully it'll get back to the same stuff that made Star Wars great to begin with, and not ruin it by continuing the run he started with Episodes 1 and 2. (The same thing I'm hoping will happen with episode 3)

Plenty of good story lines in the EU books to work with so there's a good start if he needs it.

    Oh please no :(

No TV show can ever do justice to the Star Wars movie (4-6) and they have been dimished enough with episode's 1+2 without some lame TV show pissing on the body of a once kick ass story.

I'm sure some people thought the same about the books (EU) when they were published. They could have gone either way but made the movies even better IMO as they expanded on nearly everything.

Having said that we've seen the disaster that happened with Episodes 1 and 2 so unless the trend changes, yes, there's a good chance that the TV series will also be dire. But there is hope, look at StarGate and the series that followed, the series was so feckin good it eclipsed the movie.

Alot of the EU stuff Iv read has been pretty dire. The Zhan books were good but the other wrote awful stories.

Yes the Stargate TV shows is damm good but Stargate the movie was never even close to the original star Wars movies.

will luke and han be getting zimmer frames?

the only way they could use those actors is if they set it during NJO.

zahn, stackpole, alliston and keyes are my favs.

Ok I don't know how true this is but I read on theforce.net ages ago that the TV series is to be set between the prequel and original trilogy's and will detail the story of Boba Fett. Has anyone else heard about this?
