Just noticed that ITV is offering an interactive element to their coverage of the European Championships. Is it possible that interactive feeds will be viewable in the ROI (like the Big Brother stuff at the moment)?

BBC also doing interactive coverage. Can anyone tell me if they will offer the choice of listening to commentary of the matches from Five Live?

Unlikely I'd say on an Irish card which is trained to throw up when it see's anything remotely connected to ITV :/

E4 was different as, although your Irish card presents you with the "proper" Irish version of E4, it doesn't prevent you receiving the UK version minus interactive as long as you have the correct level of sub.

ITV on the other hand is specifically barred to all except a few luck confused cards.

Anyone know which BBC channels are showing the matches?
i.e. it'll only be interactive for me if they're on BBC1/2.

I haven't seen the schedule but I can pretty much guarantee they'll be on BBC1 and 2. They're not going to disenfranchise anyone on this one.

BBC coverage looks to be the best option this year.

I must admit that I wasn't reading it as carefully as I should have, but I think I saw something in the Evening Herald last week saying that Irish widescreen viewers were going to be shortchanged, because games were only going to be broadcast in 4:3 only. Does anyone know if they were just referring to RTÉ's plans, or will this apply to the Beeb as well? I'll be more than a little narked if this is the case, as I was hoping for/looking forward to a proper 16:9 feed for the duration.

Yeah, I read on ukgold teletext a couple of days ago that the matches at Euro 04 will all be broadcast from the portuguese tv company in 4:3 not widescreen. Apparently the beeb were trying to negotiate widescreen broadcasts with them for a year but they werent having it. Pity. We'll have to wait for World Cup '06 I think.
