For all you poor Ravager Affinity or Goblin bidding players, just wanted to give you my condolences.

It hasnt been posted so I assumed at least a few people havent noticed.

Skullclamp has been banned from Type 2 and block constructed format. As from June 20th. Details here.

heehe, thank god, i never managed to get my hands on a full set of clamps, and hence begrduged those who kicked my ass with them. I welcome the bannage. maybe now some creativity can shine through in Type2 decks

it was hard for me not to notice that they were banned what with a regular of these boards texting me straightaway to inform me and rubbing my nose in the fact that the ravager deck i spent ages assembling has lost its cornerstone :(

I really wouldnt get ahead of yourself there. Skullclamp is a horrible loss but it really doesnt slow Raffinity or Goblin biddings down that much. They are both still very viable decks, at least Tier 2 if not still Tier 1 decks.

There isnt much to replace skullclamp from Fifth Dawn but then there isnt much that improves any other deck vastly enough that they become worthwhile playing over Raffinity and Goblin Bidding. Tbh, I've started playing around with my own crazy versions of Raffinity, its still a pretty lethal deck.

sure the decks are still going to totally dominate, but im just glad that im safe for now from people getting huge card drawage and dropping a tonne of enforcers/frogmites in one turn

Good call by the DCI. Personally, I don't like seeing a card becoming as popular as Skullclamp was. Seeing as how it was cheaper to run than it was to defend against, this can only be good for the game... oh, at least until Kamigawa comes out.

I agree about skullclamp becoming too popular.

The way it changes the current T2 is that now you have a choice.

You can play Raffinity, but you have the chance of running out of steam.

Goblin Bidding now has pretty much the same problem except it has bidding :dunno:

I love control decks so I'm hoping someone will come up with a nice control deck. U/W looks good atm :)
