I bought an Alba DVD Player from Argos for €45 in the north (29.99 STG) so I'm sure there about the same in their Irish stores and you can make it multiregion.

You would be wrong. Argos sell stuff for much higher prices here compared to the UK.

That DVD player is €59.99 here.
