Anyone have 1 of these, and would you reccommend it?

I customised one that totals E1380 inc vat.
    Has everything i need, 15"Sxga 1420 screen.
    Wireless 802...g.
    30Hd.
    512 Ram.
    Weighs only 2.3kg.

The only thing it doesnt have is a dedicated graphics card. I only play a bit of Cs rarely, so games dont matter. Im sure the shared will handle AutoCad?

I want to be able to lug it around here + der,,, so i want it light. If i can get away with not having the dedicated graphics, and the extra weight of a 5150i or an 8600i it`ll do fine.

I got a 510M, bought it about 2 months ago.

Great priced notebook with excellent features.
You're not going to get any better for that price, I can promise you that.

It's got everything you can possibly want, plus more. You can add bluetooth as an option when you're ordering it, that's the only thing I didn't go for.

The 15" screen is nice. Not as good as my desktop LCD, but quite usable. There's a bit of backlight coming in, but you get used to it. You won't even notice it unless you're working in a dark room.

Wireless (I went with the onboard 802.11b) works fantastic. I get excellent signal even out in the back garden. And 11mbps is quite enough for me, but you might want to pay extra for 802.11g.

I went for the lightest battery option and I never regretted it. It lasts for about 2.5 hours of normal use. If you want more battery life, you can choose the more powerful battery, or an add-on battery that fits into the DVD slot. With all of that you can get 8-9 hours of battery life on it which is pretty impressive.

The build quality isn't great, but it's pretty decent. It's not an IBM thinkpad :)
Keyboard is ok, even for longer periods of time. I'd suggest getting an external mouse as the touchpad is a bit crappy but serves the purpose if you got nothing else.

Weight is ok, this laptop is somewhere in the middle in it's class. I mean for a laptop with a 15" screen it's pretty good. I don't find it heavy, in fact it's lighter than most laptops I've encountered, but I do know that for frequent travellers weight means a lot, and this isn't exactly feather-light.

The graphics are great for 2D, office work etc. I'm sure it will run AutoCad, but forget about 3D first-person shooters. Haven't tried running any new games on it, you'd probably get away with 800x600 resolution and low details. You can always check out the reviews of similar laptops and see what the graphics card performance is like. If you're looking for a gaming laptop, try something else with Radeon 9700 Mobility chip.

I'd really recommend this laptop, it does everything I want and more, and at a very reasonable price.

By the way, the advertised 2.3kg is with the smaller 14" screen and with an air pack instead of the DVD drive.

With a 15" screen and a DVD or CD drive it's more like 2.6kg.

It makes very little difference to me, but I just wanted to point it out :)

    Thanks, for your feedback, Netman.
Cleared up a few things for me.

I reckon, it`ll do me just fine. I dont want it for games, and the graphics is the only down point as far as I can see. Even at 2.6kg-ish,, its pretty light compared to a 3.6/4kg 5150 or 8600.

I seen an Sxga 15" screen on a 5150, and i was pretty impressed.

All, the above for E1380, inc free delivery. (I might even be able to get the VAT off). Your right, when you say you wont beat it for that price, unless I consider an Acer travelmate, but there way expensive when u start looking at the Sxga screen models.
