Ok as some of you know this new machine has been causing me some problems this seems to be the last obstacle while xp is installing devices it stops at 33 minutes to go and gives me numerous errors saying cant install 'installer for display, keyboard, mouse, etc' then it brings me to a blue screen saying something about my new hardware, nothing is out of place in the bios from what i can see and ive tried disabling the integrated peripherals with no luck!

Try update the setup if you can whilst installing.

Also run a compatibilty to see if you need any drivers Scsi raid etc:

OK, go into the BIOS and using the optimal settings this will clock your CPU (Depending) to a lower speed & make a few other changes.

I had this problem & this was the solution.

When its installed, just fix the settings in the BIOS.

    Thanks JoePC

Over heating can also cause errors during the install, make sure the HSF is attached correctly & has contact + paste with the CPU.

Make sure the CD-ROM drive your using is not broke or old.

    Thanks JoePC

cd-rom is fairly old but the bios detects its correctly dont know if that makes a difference and there is no over heating i have 4 fans and a heatsink on my case

what should be the average cpu temp by the way?

Whats the CPU? there usually stable up until 50/60 C

Can you list the PC spec?

    Thanks JoePC

OK its could be a problem with the QTEC, I would clear the BIOS (using the jumpper) then run the installation with only the hard drive & one CDrom connected, different channels (IDE) conect only the Keyboard , mouse & monitor.

Tell me how you get on.

    Thanks JoePC

what speed is that old cdrom to give an idea to its age? get new cdrom, or try new cd 1st

what is that mainboard again? no results when i search

try reducing the speed of the ram, make sure all the jumpers are right

OK sounds like a hardware problem, it could really be anything,

Is the Windows CD scrached at all?

It could be the MB. You will have to try & test to get this one working.

    kdjac no nothing like that.

Yeah JoePC i'll just try numerous methods and maybe get hold of a different cd and some diff operating systems

    Getting slightly different error now

Plug and play detected an error most likely caused by faulty driver.

check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed, blah blah.

    technical information :

    **** stop : 0x000000ca (blaj blah blah)

It advises disabling caching and shadowing but i have tried that and still no luck.
