I know its only in the pre-conception stages as of yet - might even get put on the back boiler again, but I was wondering if any of you have any ideas as to who should play what parts in the Watchmen movie?

    I reckon:

    Willem Dafoe for Rorschach
Jeff Bridges (or Kyle McLaughlin or possibly Sean Bean?) for Nite Owl
Famke Jannsen for yer wan married to Dr. Manhattan (her name escapes me)
Benicio Del Toro for the Comedian
    Hugo Weaving for Viedt
    Wee man for Big Figure!

    Whadaye think? heh?

I think the film will probably suck no matter who is in it - Hollywood can't handle stories above a certain level of complexity, all the more so if the story came from a comic originally.

The only good thing to come out of it would be if it meant that more people read the original work.

Probably true - though I did have a bit more faith in it when Terry Gilliam was said to be behind the helm than this new guy.

I can only imagine what enormous amount of stuff they'll have to dump to fit into the 2-3 hour film (even that pirate comic is so class), and what new muck they'll add (colin farrell as a boozing smoking swearing Jon Osterman).

Dont think even peter jackson could pull off a good adaptation of this.
