    Hi!

As you all know, PRAI have investigated Charleville Castle, and are heading back there. But that's not the end for PRAI. We need many places to investigate. So Here is a forum where people can post suggestions as to where we go next!

PRAI: Investigation for you, by you

Why not push the boat out all the way and go to Leap Castle..
That is most definately the most haunted or the place full of the most angry of souls.
A lot of terrible murders occured there... It would be interesting to see if anybody has any backbone to last a night there.!!

Good idea. We've already thought about it and I believe it is (hopefully) next on our list. We're doing what we can!

Ok seriously, what can we do to protect ourselves from these spirits? Will they not be pissed off with us? I mean, seriously? Imagine a bunch of strangers raiding your crib and you are all pissed off because somebody murdered you? Wouldn't you be going nuts? I would!

I just know im gonna get it bad... :dunno:

The ghost of Charleville were quite welcoming actually, so you have nothing to worry about. In Leap, I'd be concerned about the Elemental though....

I was thinking about how you guys go around investigating-"PRAI: Investigation for you, by you"
but say for example, someone already knows that their place is "haunted", wouldn't they be more interested in getting rid of whatever is haunting them?
    like ghostbusters y'know? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,633 ✭✭✭stormkeeper

I dunno how possible it is to become a "GhostBuster". Some of the ghosts are beneign enough, and it's really only the malicious ghosts (be they know it, or unintentionally do it) that need to be gotten rid of...

You dont have to be afraid of any spirit you are more powerfull here then they are. The most you can get is a scratch if anything atall. Leap Castle is a good idea, but you wont find any wild spirits there. They are pretty much spirits that would like to pop out at you. The worst thing about investigations is the fact you will look all night and see or hear nothing. Somthing will happen when you least expect it.

I've heard tales of an elemental being there... Surely that's quite dangerous compared to the other spirits/ghosts?

It apparantly feeds on negative thoughts...

Kennett, this is how I perceive elemental beings to be, but as always I would encourage your own research into the subject as I am undoubtedly certain you can come to your own understanding of these energy forms.

As far as I can tell the most common agreed concept of Elemental spirits derives from the mystical physician-philosopher Paracelsus (1493-1541).
He attempted to classify spirits according to the natural elements of which he perceived they emerged from.

Elementals are understood to be the embodiment of Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
While “normal” spirits were the embodiment of the fifth element, the spiritual element (often referred to as Alkasha) that combined the forces of the mortal and material plane.

According to his teachings Elemental spirits of the air were known as Sylphs, that of fire were Salamanders, the earth spirits were gnomes/elf and the water sprits fisbars.

(The above correspondences dose not necessarily agree with folklore, mythology and magical traditions as like all things in life, it is how the individual chooses to look upon it)

Taking the stance that the elementals were malevolent may reflect the time during which these classification and analyse occurred… namely the sixteenth-century where in Europe it was not a happy time for the human-spirit interaction, this view is now most often overlooked as people recognise that these beings are born from nature.

Nature itself is neither good nor bad, it is life, a cycle in which we all play, these beings are seen as an manifestation of there elemental energy and so are one with this cycle.

It was commonly thought that only those who could see these beings were those of the second sight, which most have now come to regard to as insight.
These beings are most noticeable for working with people on an internal level rather that of the material plane.

Although I do not personally work with these beings on a large scale my limited interaction with them has being nothing but positive.

I do know of people who work far more exclusively with them as I do (partly I take it as an attempt to in tune themselves with the powers of nature) and there experiences have being the same.

These beings belong to almost ever civilisation from the Native Americans to our own Celts, there true classification lies not in the disembodied soul form of a person or animal but almost the consciousness of an area, although this may seem like a abstract thought indeed it is not as most early cultures recognised that every area itself had a “soul”.

What I think here the most important thing is intent, we all know what the urge and need for survival can do, and I don’t believe this alone is a mortal trait so when an area that contains an highly energised elemental (a place that has being exposed to distinct and extreme emotions as well as ecological disturbance) the manifestation of this being may not be to attack but to defend.

As long as one respects the laws of nature and that of its children I see no danger in working with or moving among elementals only when these laws are broken should one carry concern.

The above is just one individuals interpretation of this vast and multi levelled topic, I hope it gives some sort of insight into these beings and perhaps prompts you to come to a deeper understanding of this topic yourself.

    Thank you again for reading

    Good stuff alright :)

Perhaps Elemental isn't the right term, but I've heard reports of a "Smelly Ghost" at Leap... I dunno if we'd see it though... lol

Yeah there is supposed to be an Elemental ghost there. All this means is it can shape shift. Ghosts that feed off negative energy are mainly poltergeist. In saying all this. None of this has been proven. This is the wonderfull world of the paranormal we can only go with storys we hear.
Castle's are all well and good and probably full of ghostly recording's. (rock recordings replying events in the past) But the juicy investigations are in peoples houses , this is were you will actually experience somthing paranormal.

Funny thing happened in my room last night actually.... My mum felt a terrible feeling around her, just after my bed rocked back and forth a bit we took out the EMF and it went up to 2mg.... That's something I should prolly investigate further, since this is the 2nd incident in my room... First one was with a brief reading of 4 at the end of my bed... Then until maybe a few months ago, I had a feeling that there was a cat on my bed, pressing down on it and generally getting ready to lie down... But then I look up, nothing is therr!

gosh that sounds really creepy Kennet, I would be totally freaking out the place if my bed was rocking like that back and forth...

A good place to investigate would be the "Hellfire Club" up in the Dublin mountains..it was built around the 18th or 19th century (please correct me if I am wrong as I am saying this from memory) by some guy and it was a gentleman club. All sorts of Devil worship/Satanism went on up there, and there were reported to be some sacrifices of women and orgies. There is also a report of a man with a hooven foot who appears around the club. All sorts of weird stuff has been seen up there...its in ruins now and its well creepy. Reports of ghost sightings all the time.

Also, the man who built/owned the place also owned some mansion in Rathfarnam (I can't rememebr the name of it now) and they say that noone will live in it, all the previous occupants sold it after like 2 months or something. A story goes that one night there was a party of people at the house and some sort of stairs manifested itself and a man who looked like the devil appeared on the stairs with hooven feet and walked over to the fireplace and dissapeared.Everyone was freaking out.

Another good place to visit would be Wicklow Gaol, they say either Wicklow town itself or the Gaol has about 17 ghosts in it.

That definately sounds interesting... Perhaps it's worth visiting Wicklow Gaol sometime...

I'd like to investigate the HellFire club, but I'd be more concerned about the safety of the crew invrestigaitng it. Not from evil spitits, more from knacker drinkers up there.

    Wicklow Gaol. that sounds good!
