Seriously now, all these eircom payphones are either broken/full and are not being emptied which means you put in your money and you are screwed and cannot get it back. Anyone else experiencing this problem ? it's not the losing of 50 cent that annoys me but the fact it takes 10-15mins to find a working phone

I'd say they're not very motivated to maintain them any more since nearly everybody has a mobile these days.

best trick is to stick a big lump of playdough up the coin return slot. nobody dares touch it so then you pull it out and take change!

if ya find a phone that doesn't work why dont ya ring eircom and tell them, there are thousands and thousands of pay phones, do ya expect each and every one of em to be checked everyday:rolleyes:

An Eircom employee (while fixing a payphone) told me how to fix the payphone so as to stop the money coming out of the return tray unless you knew 'the secret'. That was surprising.

Put half a lolly pop stick thats split down the centre into the coin slot. It will go to the coin return, but block it being opened, until you smash it hard with your palm.

    Oh yeah *Schwwwweeeaaarrrrrr*
