I'm new to Ireland and I am going for a second interview next week at a design agency. I know I'm going to get asked the salary expectation question, and I have no idea what to say. I know what I should be making in Canada but I have no idea what the 'going rate' is here.

Anyone out there happen to know what an advertising account executive with three years experience should be making?

    30k - 35k

that's what I'd be looking at....

and I'm sort of in the same position as you actually

5 years account manager in design agency in the UK came back here last november....and I'm still trying to figure out what the going rate is.

by the way, if you know of any similar jobs going, lemme know as I ain't having much fun at the mo

Ok, that's what I was thinking but you don't want to come off looking ridiculous.

Sorry, there doesn't seem to be that many good jobs out there. Recently got rejected by McCann Erickson and Cawley-Nea. I know McCann found someone but I don't know about Cawley - maybe give them a shot.

I find www.adworld.ie and www.creativeireland.com to be the most useful web sites.

    cheers gibbie

yeah bin on creativeireland quite a bit, but not adworld, so maybe I'll take a gander at that one.

actually, I was hoping to move across the great divide from agency to client side, but thats just looking impossible....

it seems to be a real 'round peg for a round hole' situation out there at the mo - maybe its always like that.

work eh - what a larf

best of luck in your interview - let us know how you get on
