I've accidently deleted about 30 GB's of info and it was too big to go ot the recycle bin. It wasn't important (mainly mp3's but some rare mixes) so I didn't keep a back up.Don't suppose anyone has any experience of using recover programs. Theres seems to be a lot out there which offer a fre trail you can download. But I'm a bit sceptical.

does anyone have any experience using them?
    Any advice would be handy.

    My os is XP Pro

Easy Recovery Professional is the best one by a long shot. Its free trial isn't much good though. I don't know much about any of the free ones however.

Are you using NTFS or FAT32? I hope you have more than one partition and that you aren't still using the partition in question, or the deleted files will get over-written.

Fat32 I think, it's the default one for XP. I think there might be a small hidden partition on the drive. Sorry I'm not that techy. I have an external hard drive so it's no at the mo I'm just writing everythign to that so as not to use the "main" drive.
