Did anyone else go to this gig last night - absolute quality for only 8 euro.

Revile - getting tighter and tighter as a band

The9ine - meh really. SOunded ok, just wasnt into them

Firebird - what a f**king cracking set they put on - with only one or two references to Carcass - otherwise fantastic jam session. Didnt know what to expect from them but simply got blown away by them

I was at this. It was a top class gig and at €8 it was a steal.

I hadn't heard the other two before but have to say I was impressed. I think the9ine probably sound better on record though, I couldn't make out their DJ too clearly. Maybe it was just where I was standing. Reveile seem quite good too and do a good Simple Minds cover.

As for Firebird? WOW. I've always been impressed with Steer's playing and last night reminded me just what a great musician he is. He seems a natural frontman too having a bit of banter with the crowd ( so who are Incubus anyway?). The Rhythm section were great too and very tight. They really held it together allowing Bill to get a bit flashy.

My favourite part was probably when Bill did his harmonica solo, absolute magic.

All in all it was a brilliant gig and if you missed them this time round make sure you catch them next chance you get.
