A mate of mine has a PIII 500Mhz Compaq Presario and he wasnt to upgrade
the RAM in it, currently only has 128MB

Will conventional generic P133 ram work in it or does he need Compaq specific ram?

well try looking at memory manufacturers website like crucial or kingston. they seem to have memory finder which locate what module will fit particular manufactured system. from there you could figure the memory spec that you might need to get for your system. best of luck.

well i know the memory spec, its PC133 168 pin SDRAM..

but Ive seen times when generic memory causes problems with some applications
and you get memory errors popping up.

Just havent dealt a lot with compaqs in the past so not too sure.
