    Hey,
Anyone got any idea where I should look for a summer job in IT? I'm a 1st year computer science student in TCD.

TBH, your best bet is probably some tech support job. I'm a second year software development student in DKIT and there isn't a job going for me in the town :(

In trinity there are often lecturers that have work needed to be done over the summer. Sometimes the lecturers email the class, other times they will ask you personally. It wouldn't hurt to ask a few of them if they know of anything going. Working in college over the summer is a very sweet job. Its not paid much, it was just over min wage last year, but its relaxed, interesting (if you get a good project) and good experience.

As feylya said tech support (call centre) is teh way to go. It may sound ****e (and it is) but it counts alot to your cv when you looking for better jobs in the coming years. Get as much experience as you can, you'll need it to put you above the crowd come graduation

Exactly, I worked in a tech support role (no PC related) for a Call Centre during college. While I admit it was hard, the money was good and the hours were flexible. Once I finished college, I got an IT job of them within a 5 months.
