Problem Connecting Nokia 6310 to XP Home via IR

    Hi

Not sure if anyone can help me with this or not, but here goes ...

    I'm using XP Home & have a Nokia 6310.

I want to transfer info, via IR, from the phone to the PC. I've installed the software from the CD that came with the phone and it appears to be working.

I've set my phone to IR and it also seems to be working (getting an occassional "ping" on my PC, complete with icon to confirm the 6310 is in range).

However, from the options menu for the Nokia software, when I select Nokia Content Copier, I run into a problem.

I select Copy data from phone to PC & next, I am brought to a "connect source phone" message. Source phone is showing as "unknown" so I select "connection" (as directed) & get a new box opening (called Nokia Connection Manager) with 3 different options (2 cable connections & 1 IRDA connection).

The IRDA connection is ticked, I press "select" but the message continues to tell me "No phone connected".

This problem is repeating and preventing me from being able to establish the IR connection between the phone & PC. Any thoughts ?

    Thanks,

    G.
