    Can anyone answer this...

Am buying a 12" iBook and either an iPod or iPod Mini. Would the saving I'd make from purchasing the equipment Stateside be worth the airfare over? I need a holiday anyway. Also would I face any hideous taxes from customs for bringing in equipment from abroad?

First up the keyboard will be the Us keyboard.
You don't pay vat in the states , just sales tax. This varies from State to State.Unless you want to pay import duties don't declare it when you arrive back. You will save quite a bit but not enough to justify the flight and hotel.

Well maybe not enough to justify a hotel, but if you found a same day return flight cheap enough it might be worth it. If you're going on holiday anyway then it would probably be worth it more.

Be careful of the ipod mini - seems to be lots of reports of problems with it.

Naw, just say you brought them over from Ireland with you :)
My mate got his powerbook in Canada, and he posted the packaging back to himself in Dublin :)

see the other thread. answers there, and link to more answers

    1) keyboard. pound, dollar and euro are in different locations with each other. only that key.

    2) current = every apple item works with 100-258 V with no problem.

    3) if you want the package, mail it to you.
